spending a whole year with
Briar [Bauman] talking about
Lima every single day since
he won it last year, it kind of
rubbed off on me. I tried to do
what he did last year, hold it
wide open and hope for the
best!"
Texter led the 18-rider, 15-
lap main event into the first
turn and was never seriously
challenged after that. "It's
so cool. It's so awesome to
get Husqvarna their first win
in American Flat Track; it's a
dream come true," said Texter.
"Hats off to my entire team
and everyone who has been
started to come into play pretty
much ending any opportunity for
Craver.
The bad start doomed Carv-
er's race. "I was probably sev-
enth or eighth right off the start;
I feel that's kind of what screwed
me out of winning tonight," said
Carver. "If I would have got off
the line in second or third, I think
we could have put on a battle.
It would have been a battle for
sure."
Bauman and Wiles fought over
third with Wiles taking over as
the five-laps-to-go board came
out. Halbert had the besieged
Harley-Davidson in fifth just
ahead of Johnny Lewis, but on
the last lap Brad Baker was able
to charge by both and take fifth
away from the Harley Factory
rider.
Halbert held on to sixth ahead
of Lewis. Jarod Vanderkooi,
Jeremy Higgins (Bill Werner Rac-
ing/Kibblewhite, Kawasaki Ninja
650) and Bryan Smith filled out
the top 10.
AFT Singles
After switching over to Husqvar-
na Motorcycles for 2018 it has
been an uphill battle for Shayna
Texter (Husqvarna Motorcycles/
Roof Systems Husqvarna FC
450) as she learned the new
bike. It all came together in
the most unlikely of places, a
cushion pea-gravel half mile. "It's
incredible to win Lima. Never
in a million years would I imag-
ine I'd win this race; it's such a
rough track," said Texter. "I think
(108) fill out the top five. Brandon
Price was in attendance at Lima, help-
ing Morgen Mischler.
INDIAN INFESTATION
As more and more Indian FTR750s fill
the pits, the more they fill the Grand
National Twins grid. There were 11
Indians in the 18-rider field along with
three Kawasaki Ninja 650s, two Har-
ley-Davidson XG750Rs, one Yamaha
FZ-07, and one KTM LC8 950. The
AFT Singles class was dominated by
the Honda CRF450R, with 10 making
the 18-rider field. There were five Ya-
maha YZ450Fs, one KTM 450 SX-F,
one Kawasaki KX450F and one—the
winner—Husqvarna FC 450.

Brad Baker shows
why it's not a good
idea to run behind
anyone at Lima.
