AMERICAN FLAT TRACK SERIES
ROUND 10 / JUNE 30, 2018
ALLEN COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS / LIMA, OHIO

HOME FIELD
DISADVANTAGE
The last time (and only time) a racer
won the Grand National he was
promoting was in 1991 when Ronnie
Jones won the Oklahoma City Half
Mile at the Oklahoma State Fair-
grounds.
SHOW ME THE MONEY
The George Roeder Dash for Cash
was the first event of the evening
and the six fastest Twins qualifiers
went at it for four laps. Fast quali-
fier Jeffrey Carver got the holeshot
and held off Jared Mees for all four
laps to take the win. Johnny Lewis
worked his way from fifth to third
over Henry Wiles, Briar Bauman and
Sammy Halbert on the only Harley-
Davidson against the five Indians.
WATCHING FROM
THE FENCE
The Harley-Davidson Factory team
was left shorthanded when Brandon
Robinson caught a rut down the
back straight (during qualifying) and
hit the fence. The impact ripped his
foot peg and brake off, but also got
his foot. There is too much swelling
to know the full extent of his injury,
but broken bones in his right foot
was the first diagnosis.
WHAT'S THE POINT?
Jared Mees added to his points
lead, which now stands at 220 to
153 over Henry Wiles. Brad Baker
(130), Jeffrey Carver (120) and
Kenny Coolbeth (105) round out the
top five in the American Flat Track
Twins class. Dan Bromley also has a
big lead in the American Flat Track
Singles class, 178 to 135 over Ryan
Wells. Just one point behind Wells
is Shayna Texter, while Kolby Carlile
(114) and the injured Brandon Price
Briefly...
Henry Wiles had to fight his
way past Bauman before
landing in third place.
