In the one-and-only Junior Cup
race of the weekend, it was Alex
Dumas (KTM Orange Brigade/
JP43 Training) capturing his fifth
victory out of seven races held
so far. Sean Ungvarsky (KTM Or-
ange Brigade/Ghilliman Racing)
came from well back on the grid
to take second, and Dallas Dan-
iels (Quaterley Racing/On Track
Development) grabbed third.
In Saturday's solo Twins Cup
race, Jason Madama (Yamaha)
claimed victory over Chris Parrish
(Suzuki) and Cody Newman (Yam).
SUPERBIKE
Beaubier had to deal with a
pesky Josh Herrin (Attack Perfor-
mance/Herrin Compound) in
the first race. After nabbing his
first-ever MotoAmerica pole,
Herrin jumped out to an early
lead over Elias, Danny Eslick
(BMW) and Beaubier, who got
shuffled back off the start. By
lap two, Beaubier had regrouped
and moved into second place,
and with the help of Elias laying it
down, started closing in on Her-
rin, who had good knowledge of
the track, after moments earlier
competing in the WorldSBK race
(on the same motorcycle!).
Eventually, Beaubier caught
Herrin and wasn't in a hurry to
Toni Elias (1) started
off strong but things
quickly spiraled
downward for the
defending champ.
