McElrath started just outside the top 10. Only a few turns into the second moto, Jeremy Martin tangled in midair with a 3-2 score over the 11-1 of Ferrandis and Sexton was third overall with an 8-4. Then came the 12-3 of Alex Martin, his team- mate Smith (7-6), Savatgy (6-7) and Plessinger in seventh overall with a 9-5, just two spots in front of Jeremy Martin in ninth overall with a 1-DNF. "Well, I didn't have a very good start," McElrath said. "I spun and got swallowed up. I was surprised I came out pretty good, made quick passes, which is not really like me. My mechanic just kept putting my times and said 'keep fighting, keep fight- ing.' Once I got up, I was like two [positions] behind Sexton, and Consistency bought Shane McElrath the overall win in the 250MX class.
