the same lap with an aggressive
inside move in the track's first
turn to take second.
Tomac took the checkered
flag about eight seconds in
front of Barcia (Monster Energy
Yamaha), with Roczen, Blake
Baggett (Rocky Mountain ATV-
MC KTM) and Musquin rounding
out the top five.
Roczen got the holeshot again
in moto two, but Barcia was
quick to relegate him to second,
and then Musquin did the same
to move Roczen back to third.
Tomac, however, started outside
450MX
Eli Tomac (Monster Energy
Kawasaki) had lost just a single
moto coming into Muddy Creek,
but with each track comes a new
challenge, and Marvin Musquin
(Red Bull KTM) was up to that
challenge.
Ken Roczen (Honda HRC) got
the holeshot in the first moto,
with Tomac hot on his heels,
but Musquin went down in the
crowded fourth turn after clip-
ping Barcia's rear wheel. Tomac
was content to wait Roczen out
for the first 10 minutes or so
before he made his move to take
the lead, and Barcia followed
suit, passing Roczen later on
left sitting second in points to
Jeremy Martin, but Martin's
bike broke while he was lead-
ing the second moto, resulting
in a Plessinger 1-1. And then
at Muddy Creek, Martin won
the first moto while Plessinger
finished ninth, which cut Pless-
inger's 20-point lead to seven.
Had Martin been able to win the
second moto, instead of being
taken out through no fault of his
own, Martin would've left Ten-
nessee the points leader.
Instead, Martin is in the
hospital and out for the season,
and Plessinger has a 29-point
lead over Jeremy's brother Alex
(who is technically third in points
behind Jeremy).
Eli Tomac (1) grabbed yet another
450MX overall victory, but it nearly
didn't happen after getting a
midpack start in the second moto.
