MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND 5 / JUNE 23, 2018 MUDDY CREEK RACEWAY / BLOUNTVILLE, TENNESSEE P64 iii My Own Race: 51 JUSTIN BARCIA 2ND 450MX (2-2) Justin Barcia had his best result of the season so far at Muddy Creek with a 2-2 score just as he heads to Southwick, which is a track he likes and where he's had a lot of success. "I just kind of was riding my own race," Barcia said of the second moto. "I had to push pretty hard toward the end [as Eli Tomac was catching him]. It was definitely a difficult track today. [My team] got the bike set up really good. We're really getting close now and it's showing. I just can't wait to get a win here. That's what I want next. I set my goals high and I'm knocking them off here middle of the season." 25 MARVIN MUSQUIN 3RD 450MX (5-1) "It was a big bummer to go down in the first lap," Marvin Musquin said. "I clipped someone's rear wheel, couldn't avoid him, and crashed, so [it was] really frustrating. I've been feeling really good, training really hard and work- ing really hard with the team and it's been paying off. Last weekend was awe- some. This weekend could have been awesome too, but unfortunately that first moto, I came back to fifth. It's a bummer, but I fought hard that second moto, all I needed to do was get a good start, fight for it and not go down. So that's what I did. I was able to control the race until the end, so that was awesome." 94 KEN ROCZEN 4TH 450MX (3-4) "I'm happy with how today went," said Ken Roczen. "I got fourth, but I feel a lot better and am more satisfied with it this weekend than last because I think we made some good steps forward. I'm a lot happier with my second moto. We definitely made some great improvements on the bike between races. I was kind of fighting it a little in the first moto, but the changes we made were a lot better. I was having fun and not feeling beat up. I ripped two holeshots, which is great. I was up there in the first moto, finishing third, but I just wasn't gelling. I don't think the results show how happy I was with the second moto— not on the podium, but all in all I'm satisfied and we can just keep working forward from here on out." 4 BLAKE BAGGETT 5TH 450MX (4-5) Blake Baggett started outside the top 10 in both motos in Tennessee but still managed a solid top-five. "Definitely starts were not there," Baggett said. "That's the key, just get up there with those guys right off the bat. If you're not right there with them it's tough to catch them because we're all going the same speed. It's just tough. So, got to regroup a little bit. Still a little bit sore from last weekend. Just going to take this week to regroup and try to get up there and battle with those guys. We'll keep plugging away and try to get up there and battle with those guys for podium spots soon." 24 DYLAN FERRANDIS 2ND 250MX (11-1) Dylan Ferrandis got stuck in the pack in the first moto, but in moto two he showed what he can do if he gets near the front, capitalizing on a late-race crash from Alex Martin to take the lead and the win. "I know what I can do," Ferrandis said. "Last weekend was a good comeback, but I know I can do better. I had a crash at the beginning of the [first] moto, so that was really bad. I fought to the end, finished 11th. I knew I was able to do something good on this track, but it's not the kind of track that I really like. Second moto, I finally got a good start, which was something that I was really looking for this season."
