Our cover story 30 years ago was our preview of the USGP
motocross at Hollister Hills SVRA… We covered Broc Glover's win
at the AMA L.A. Coliseum Supercross; it was Glover's first SX win
since 1985… Doug Polen won the AMA Superbike/Camel Pro
Series round at Loudon; it was Polen's first national victory… Eddie
Lawson captured his fourth victory of the year at the Austrian Grand
Prix… Sam Ermolenko won the American Speedway Final at Long
Beach.
Doug Henry, who was pictured on the cover 20 years ago,
returned to Budds Creek where he suffered a near career-ending
injury three years earlier and broke both arms a year earlier. He
put all that aside and came away with the win this time… Aaron
Yates won the Superbike National at New Hampshire International
Speedway… We featured our coverage of the Isle of Man TT won
by Honda rider Ian Simpson.
