ROUND 9 / JUNE 16, 2018
REMINGTON PARK / OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA
P82
in ninth over Brandon Robinson
in 10th.
AFT SINGLES
The 15-lap AFT Singles main
event was another all-out
war. Cory Texter (Cory Texter
Racing/Law Tigers Honda
CRF450R) got the holeshot,
but it was Ryan Wells (Richie
Morris Racing/Al Lamb Honda
CRF450R) with the lead at the
end of the first lap.
Australian Max Whale (Don's
Kawasaki/Shark Leathers Ka-
wasaki KX450F) and the Texter
siblings, Shayna (Husqvarna
Motorcycle/JCS Racing
Husqvarna FC450) and Cory
place at the end of the first lap,
but started carving his way to the
front and displaced Pearson in
third on lap 10.
That was Baker's high-water
mark, as he eventually lost third
back to his teammate, Smith.
Pearson held on to fifth over a
fast-closing Davis Fisher (Double
D Performance/Bob Lanphere
Beaverton Motorcycles Indian
Scout FTR750), Jake Johnson
(Estenson Racing/McCand-
less Truck Center Indian Scout
FTR750), Chad Cose (Indian
Motorcycle of Oklahoma City/
Englehart Research & Technolo-
gies Indian Scout FTR750) and
Shawn Baer, the first non-Indian
torcycle/Allstate Motorcycle In-
surance Indian Scout FTR750),
Brandon Robinson (Harley-Da-
vidson Motor Company/Vance &
Hines Harley-Davidson XG750R)
and Shawn Baer (Schaeffer's
Motorsports/McNews Automo-
tive KTM LC8) were nipping at
Pearson's heels.
Last year Brad Baker (Indian
Motorcycle/Allstate Motorcycle
Insurance Indian Scout FTR750)
had victory slip through his
fingers in the waning laps of the
race. This year it all came apart
with a horrendous start. "I had
an awful start. The clutch was
engaging weird," said Baker.
He was fortunate to be in eighth
Jared Mees battles Jeffrey Carver Jr.
before Caver's bike quit.
