T
he American Flat Track season has reached
the halfway point of 2018 and defending
Grand National Champion Jared Mees
shows no interest in loosening his strangle hold
on the competition. The third annual OKC Mile
returned to Remington Park and it's mile oval and
Mees (Indian Motorcycle/Rogers Racing Indian
Scout FTR750) easily won for the third time.
Each year the track has been prepared differ-
ently, but each year Mees has been victorious.
The consensus among the riders was this was the
best track yet, but it was also Mees' most convinc-
ing win. "This was the best track that we have had
here," said Mees. "The corners were good the
first year, but the straights were crap. This year the
straights were the best they ever were. The whole
track was pretty good. It was cool to come to a
mile and have some passing. Probably the best
track we have had all year, besides Springfield and
maybe Calistoga. You could race and pass. You
could dice it up with guys if you wanted to."
