attention to the little things. I had
a decent first loop with seven
points but then I came back with
just two points on my second
loop. On my third loop, I had
points in the same spot as my
second loop but then I made a
mistake in the last section, which
cost me a few more points. My
14 points ended up being the
closest I've ever finished to Pat."
Davis struggled to connect
with the sections on Saturday
and finished off the pace in third,
but then came back with a ven-
geance on Sunday and posted
a score of 19 points (6/5/8) to
take second behind Smage.
Blanc-Gonnet matched Davis'
first lap score of six, but then
struggled with the heat on his
second lap, which caused his
score for that loop to balloon to
18. The Oregon native settled
down on his third loop and fin-
ished out the day with a five on
his final lap, but the damage was
done and his total of 29 for the
day left him in third place.
Sam Fastle turned in some
brilliant rides over the course of
the two-day event, but too many
fives left the Sherco USA rider
with fourth each day, ahead of
Beta USA's Andreas Niederer.
The Arkansas event marked
the final round of the East
Regional series for the support
riders and GasGas North Amer-
ica's Dalton Land was among
the many Regional Champions
crowned over the weekend, his
title coming in the Junior division.
After winning both days in his
class in Arkansas, Dalton ended
up tied after four rounds with
Beta USA's Cole Cullins, but won
out in the tiebreaker to claim the
championship.
