Kurt Hough was pictured on the cover of Cycle News 30
years ago for winning the Idaho City ISDE Two-Day Qualifier…
Dan Ashcraft and Kurt Pfeiffer piloted a Yamaha to victory at
the SCORE Baja 500… We tested the 1988 Honda CR250R
motocrosser… Eric Geboers won the 500cc German Motocross
Grand Prix… We covered the WSMA Formula USA Series round at
Willow Springs won by Yoshimura Suzuki rider Scott Gray.
We caught Anthony Gobert celebrating his AMA Superbike victory
at Road America 20 years ago, and we featured the Ducati rider on
the cover… New England's Doug Henry and John Dowd were the
heroes of the rainy day at the Southwick MX 338 National. Henry
topped the 250cc class and Dowd the 125s… Carlos Checa
became the fourth different winner of the year after topping the
500cc GP in Madrid… Ty Davis was the overall winner at the
Idaho City 100 ISDE Qualifier… We interviewed young road racer
Valentino Rossi.
