Lorenzo's second win was
surely bittersweet for him and
the team, after the parting of the
ways—although he said, "one
thing I have learned [in life] is
better than third, but he is still
the closest challenger to title
leader Marquez.
It was an afternoon of many
crashes in all three classes, with
only 14 MotoGP finishers, mean-
ing points for all (even two for
rookie Franco Morbidelli, who
crashed, remounted to retire to
his Marc VDS pit, but was sent
out again to finish 14th). There
were also mechanical problems
on a hot afternoon, none more
spectacular than Tito Rabat's
flaming blowup at the end of the
straight. The Avintia Ducati rider
Jorge Lorenzo was
back to his old self in
Barcelona, hammering
out a merciless pace to
break Marc Marquez's
challenge.
