Plessinger, however, stayed
steady out front, while Martin
worked on Cooper for second. It
took until past the halfway point
before Martin finally found his
way by Cooper, and by then it
was too late to have any chance
of reeling Plessinger back in.
Plessinger took the win over
Martin, Cooper, Austin Forkner
JGR Suzuki's lone remaining
250MX pilot Enzo Lopes and
Martin. Plessinger went by his
teammate, Cooper, immediately
through the rollers, leaving Coo-
per fighting off the rookie Lopes
for much of the opening lap, be-
fore Lopes slowly dropped back.
(Lopes crashed in the second
moto and broke his collarbone.)

Just when it seemed two-time
champ Jeremy Martin was
catching fire, that fire got extin-
guished; at least for now. But
things started off okay for the
red-plate holder.
