OFF-ROAD AMSOIL GRAND NATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY SERIES ROUND 8 / JUNE 10, 2018 SENECA HIGHLAND / ALPINE, NY P80 Pro division with his sixth-place finish, while Coastal Husqvarna Racing teammates Craig De- Long and Pascal Rauchenecker were second and third in the XC2 250 Pro division thanks to seventh and eighth overall finishes, respectively. In the FMF XC3 125 Pro-Am class, RPM KTM Racing's Jes- se Ansley took top billing with a 20th overall finish. Meanwhile, Raines Riding University/Atlas Sales/Yamaha's Jason Raines (25th overall) and Coastal Rac- ing/Husqvarna's Alex Teagar- den (28th overall) rounded out the podium. iii My Own Race: 1 KAILUB RUSSELL 1ST O/A, 1ST XC1 PRO It's no surprise to see Kaliub Russell at the top of the podium, but it was anything but busi- ness as usual for the factory KTM rider. He was hounded relentlessly by JCR Honda's Trevor Bollinger, who finished less than a second behind him at the end of the three-hour race. But it wasn't enough to stop Russell from taking his sixth win of the season. "This is always a tough place and today was no different," said the FMF KTM rider. "It was tough for me to get going but I jut rode my pace and what I was comfortable doing. Trevor rode great; he was right on me the whole day. I rode a pretty mistake-free race; I don't think I fell once. I might have had a couple close calls with the lappers, but my FMF KTM was running great and we were steady cruising out front." 1 JOSH TOTH 6TH O/A, 1ST XC2 250 PRO FMF KTM rider Josh Toth nearly cracked the top-five overall before a crash on the final lap relinquished him to sixth. Fortunately he was able to still top the XC2 250 Pro field. "I got off to a good start and there was dust in the fields so I just took advantage of it in the woods and carried my momentum," said Toth. "I kept a really good pace all the way and then I caught some of the XC1 riders in the field sections, which actually kind of messed me up with the lingering dust, but it was awesome to be up there in the front with those guys. It's definitely a huge confidence booster, especially going into next year since I'll be in XC1. It's helpful to get the experience and know what the pace is." 739 TREVOR BOLLINGER 2ND O/A, 2ND XC1 PRO "Close, but no cigar," Trevor Bollinger commented of his runner-up finish. The young gun is still seeking his career-first win, and came within a bike-length of winning the Tomahawk GNCC. An incident on the second-to-last lap where Bollinger clipped a log and damaged his rear brake might have slightly hindered his efforts, but his second-place finish (a career best) have boosted him in the standings to third overall. "Trevor really clicked today," said JCR Honda's Johnny Campbell. "Trevor's speed alongside great decision making and masterful race craft placed us on the podium." Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Josh Strang throttles his way to fourth overall.
