IN THE WIND P42 the specialty of riders like Walker, but he enjoyed his time in France nonetheless. "Despite feeling out of my comfort zone in classic enduro I feel like I adapted well," Walker said. "Tenth overall is a strong result to take away from round three. There are some incredibly fast grass track specialists and so it was always going to be tough to challenge for a podium result. But to finish 10th and increase my lead in the series is fantastic." American rider Cody Webb was unable to compete follow- ing his crash at Erzberg a week prior, leaving Colton Haaker of the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team as the sole U.S. competitor. Haaker confessed he had never raced grass tracks before, but took to it remarkably well, finish- ing 17th overall. "This was for sure a whole new experience or me," said Haaker. "I think I'm a well-rounded rider who can race Hard Enduro, SuperEnduro and motocross, but racing slippery, grassy special tests is something I've never experienced before. Overall I re- ally enjoyed the experience and being taken out of my comfort zone like that. All told, 17th overall against some very specialized riders in this type of competition is rewarding." Haaker was one of the few top runners in the WESS champion- ship to land inside the top-20 in France. Manny Lettenbichler (second in WESS points) finished 15th overall while Taddy Blazusiak (fifth in points) finished 20th. Billy Bolt and Graham Jarvis finished 38th and 44th in France, respec- tively, but still retain their top-five standings in WESS points. Riders are looking forward to getting back to the hard enduro format for round four at Red Bull Romaniacs, July 24-28. CN Results: 1. Loic Larrieu (Yam) 2. Theo Espinasse (Shr) 3.
