IN THE WIND P54 TEMPERS FLARE AFTER REA'S CRASH IN BRNO J onathan Rea has lashed out at Kawasaki Racing Team team- mate Tom Sykes following their controversial clash in race two at Brno. Rea and Sykes collided while disputing sixth place on lap three with Rea going down, the two riders exchanging words in the media shortly afterwards. "Blaming me? I don't under- stand how, I'm on the outside of the corner, how I could cause the crash," Rea fumed on Mo- torsport.com when told Sykes blamed him for the crash. "Clever people know what hap- pened, I was on the outside of the corner completely through," said Rea. "From his onboard [cam- era] he came from behind and hit me on the side, when he had space to go more on the inside and square off the corner like [Eugene] Laverty in front. He was much wider than Laverty in front. The intention was clear, I just don't understand why it was in his brain to not give me room when I was already through. "I can't accept the blame, it's ludicrous putting it on me. I can't understand this guy sometimes. I went down because there was contact; that happens in racing. But looks like I'm not going to get an apology either, so it's one of them." Sykes refused to take blame for the crash, either, stating, "It looks like there's people making a big deal out of this," Sykes said to Motorsport.com. "The long and short is he [Rea] made an uncalculated pass, ran wide and obviously I focused on my exit up the hill. "He looked to obviously cut back; he was off the line, tried to cut it back onto the racing line and I was there. People can say what they want, but there was nothing to it, it was a racing incident." CN T2 HARLEY SOLD FOR $480,000 T he 1991 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy made famous in the iconic 1992 action blockbuster Termina- tor II has sold at auction for $480,000 at the Icons & Legends of Hollywood Auction, held over June 5-8 in Los Angeles. Arnold Schwarzenegger used the machine in various scenes throughout the movie, including the epic truck chase clip when he and John Connor, played by Edward Furlong, are being chased by the T-1000, played by Robert Patrick. Other movie items sold at the action included Sigourney Weaver "Ellen Ripley" spacesuit from Alien for $192,000 and Jane Fonda's futuristic rifle from Barbarella for $264,000. CN Tom Sykes stares down Jonathan Rea before the start of race two at Brno. It would get much worse in a few laps' time. The Terminator's Hog went for nearly half a million dollars at auction last week.
