he 2018 MotoAmerica Su-
perbike Championship just
stepped up a gear. The beau-
tiful surroundings of Road America
saw two bare-knuckle boxing match-
es between the factory machines
of Cameron Beaubier (Monster
Energy/Yamalube Yamaha Factory
Racing YZF-R1) and Toni Elias (Yo-
shimura Factory Suzuki Racing) and
the privateer Attack Performance/
Herrin Compound Yamaha of Josh
Herrin, with former two-time champ
Beaubier taking a double victory—his
first wins of the year—and a new
championship lead.
In the Supersport class, Valentin
Debise (M4 Ecstar Suzuki) made a
triumphant return to AMA competi-
tion after his brutal Daytona crash,
taking race one with JD Beach
