Moto3
Jorge Martin found redemption
at Mugello. After a string of pole
starts and after being knocked off
in the last two rounds, the Span-
ish Del Conca Gresini Honda rider
claimed the cleverest and narrow-
est of wins.
It followed a 20-lap three-bike
fight that ended still all but three
abreast. Martin managed a strong
exit from the final corner that was
just enough to keep him from be-
ing drafted over the line. Redox
rider Marco Bezzecchi made the
most of his KTM's straight-line
speed to inch ahead of Martin's
teammate Fabio di Giannantonio.
Jorge Martin (88)
held his nerve to
take the Moto3 win
by a hair's breadth.
Spaniard Martin's winning
margin was 0.019 of a second; Di
Giannantonio was 0.024 behind
his fellow-Italian, and the rest 10
seconds away.
The usual Mugello muddle pre-
vailed behind, until Enea Bastianini
(Leopard Honda) managed to pick
through from 14th on the grid. He
was too late to catch the front trio,
and took the KTMs of Gabriel Ro-
drigo and last year's winner Andrea
Migno plus Honda's Tony Arbolini
with him; and over the line Rodrigo
and Migno were ahead, Arbolini
seventh.
The chase pack was still huge,
from Dalla Porta (Honda) in eighth
to Nicolo Bulega (KTM) 21st cov-
ered by less than 1.5 seconds.
Niccolo Antonelli and Manuel
Pagliani (both Honda) completed
the top 10.
Bezzecchi and Martin have 83
