the line just ahead of Desalle in
fourth, which opened the door
for Febvre's first podium of the
year. Gajser was fifth in the moto.
The overall went: Herlings,
Cairoli, Febvre, Desalle and
Gajser. Glenn Coldenhoff (KTM),
Evgeny Bobryshev (Suzuki),
Tommy Searle (Kawasaki), Jer-
emy Seewer (Yamaha) and Max
Anstie (Husqvarna) rounded out
the top 10 overall.
It was again Red Bull KTM
teammates battling for the
overall win in MX2. Points leader
Pauls Jonass and Jorge Prado
battled back and forth for the
lead at times in both motos,
but in the end, Jonass pulled
through for the wins. With the
victory, Jonass extends his lead
in the championship to 28 over
Prado, 401-373.
Third overall went to Russian
Calvin Vlaanderen (Honda) with
a 4-3, while Great Britain's Ben
Watson (Yamaha) and American
Thomas Covington (Husqvarna)
rounding out the top five overall.
Covington went 3-9 on the day.
Thomas Kjer Olsen (Husqvar-
na), currently third in points,
had a terrible day after suffering
DNFs in both motos due to me-
chanicals. He still controls third
in the championship but Watson
is now just eight points behind
him in fourth. CN
ANDERSON SIDELINED
WITH INJURY
Pauls Jonass won
both MX2 motos,
making it Red Bull
KTM sweep.
Jason Anderson
was involved in
a freak crash
while practicing
midweek at Glen
Helen Raceway,
which resulted in a
broken foot.
J
ason Anderson, of the Rockstar
Energy Husqvarna MX Team, was
forced to miss the Lakewood, Colo-
rado round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro
Motocross Championship after suffer-
ing an injury while training during the
week leading up to the Colorado race.
During open practice day Thursday,
May 31, at Glen Helen Raceway,
Anderson and another rider collided
resulting in a compound fracture of his
foot. The accident actually happened
off the track while riders were being
re-routed around another rider who
had earlier fallen on the track.
Anderson underwent surgery later
that day and is hoping to be back rac-
ing again at Unadilla in August. CN
