VOL. 55 ISSUE 22 JUNE 5, 2018 P29 until checkpoint 15 that I got up to about sixth, but I knew Carl's Dinner would be decisive. I made a lot of time up there. "When I got to Green Hell I wasn't quite sure what was hap- pening but I saw Billy and Manni stuck. I got up so far and then was able to push the rest. That for me was where the race was won, but with Jonny chasing me home I couldn't relax until the checkered flag." Regrouping after the punishing Green Hell section, Lettenbichler was able to cross the finish line three minutes behind Jarvis in third, with Young coming home in fourth. Bolt, seeing his chance of winning lost in Green Hell, completed the top five. Passing both Blazusiak and Mario Ro- man (Sherco) in Green Hell, Beta Factory Racing's Travis Teasdale of South Africa finished sixth with Paul Bolton (KTM) seventh. After a promising start, Blazu- siak eventually ended his race in eighth. Securing another top- 10 finish in WESS, Spain's Pol Tarres (Husqvarna) took ninth with Roman dropping back to 10th in the closing stages of the race. In total 23 riders complet- ed this year's Erzbergrodeo Red Bull Hare Scramble within the four-hour allotted race time. Americans Colton Haaker (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) and Cody Webb (FMF KTM) participated in the race, and Haaker got off to a great start by winning the Iron Road Prologue on Saturday, commenting, "This is an incredible feeling after my concussion in Portugal, to come back strong and prove to myself I'm not scared to let it hang out!" The race didn't go quite as well, but he did card a 12th-place finish—a career best for him at Erzberg. Webb suffered a crash in the prologue that resulted in multiple injuries. He managed to finish the prologue with a broken foot, finger, and an injured knee, but did not line up for Sunday's main race. Rather than head home, however, Webb joined the an- nouncing team for the event and offered commentary on the Red Bull TV live feed. Webb's injuries likely also take him out of contention for the third round of the series, Trèfle Lozérien AMV in France, which is only one week away. CN OVERALL 1. Graham Jarvis (Hus) 2:05:59 2.
