Bagnaia's title lead shrunk slightly, 111 to Oliveira's 98, then Baldassarri (84), Marquez (78) and Mir up to fifth, on 64. Moto3 Jorge Martin found redemption at Mugello. After a string of pole starts and after being knocked off in the last two rounds, the Span- ish Del Conca Gresini Honda rider claimed the cleverest and narrow- est of wins. It followed a 20-lap three-bike fight that ended still all but three abreast. Martin managed a strong exit from the final corner that was just enough to keep him from be- ing drafted over the line. Redox rider Marco Bezzecchi made the most of his KTM's straight-line speed to inch ahead of Martin's teammate Fabio di Giannantonio. Jorge Martin (88) held his nerve to take the Moto3 win by a hair's breadth. Spaniard Martin's winning margin was 0.019 of a second; Di Giannantonio was 0.024 behind his fellow-Italian, and the rest 10 seconds away. The usual Mugello muddle pre- vailed behind, until Enea Bastianini (Leopard Honda) managed to pick through from 14th on the grid. He was too late to catch the front trio, and took the KTMs of Gabriel Ro- drigo and last year's winner Andrea Migno plus Honda's Tony Arbolini with him; and over the line Rodrigo and Migno were ahead, Arbolini seventh. The chase pack was still huge, from Dalla Porta (Honda) in eighth to Nicolo Bulega (KTM) 21st cov- ered by less than 1.5 seconds.
