bike was working quite well. In
the dry we were just missing a
few things. We just need to step
up the game a little bit."
In the championship, Rea
now has 245 points, Davies 181,
Double Dutchman VDM 163,
tied on the same points as fourth
placed Sykes.
WorldSSP
He's won a WorldSSP race
before (at Motorland Aragon), he
has scored in every round since
he joined WorldSSP this year,
so a full 25 points for Sandro
Cortese (Kallio Yamaha) were
enough to take him to the top of
the WorldSSP table, as well as
the top step of the Donington
podium.
Behind Cortese was the first
of two fast Frenchmen in conten-
tion this year, Jules Cluzel (NRT
Yamaha) who led from pole for
seven laps before Cortese got
into his stride and hit the front.
Third place was collected in
fine style by former Superstock
and Supersport top runner,
Raffaele De Rosa (MV Agusta
Reparto Corse by Vamag). He
was 2.676 seconds back after
a burst of pace when it looked
like he would slip backwards for
a time.
Randy Krummenacher's re-
birth as a top WorldSSP rider for
the Bardahl Evan Bros. Yamaha
team continued but he pushed
so hard to get to the podium
places, he had a huge near
highside out of Foggy's, and got
passed by Lucas Mahias (GRT
Yamaha). The latter was fifth
today, and dropped 12 points
off the championship lead as a
result.
Federico Caricasulo (GRT Ya-
maha) was not quite on point by
his usual standards, and finished
sixth.
The second official MV of
Ayrton Badovini was seventh;
Cluzel's teammate Thomas
Gradinger was eighth.
The top non-Yamaha/MV was
a Kawasaki, which belonged to
the Puccetti Racing team, and
was ridden by Sheridan Morais,
struggling under braking but
moving up to finish ninth.
In the points the middleweight
world championship stays crazy
close, with Cortese on 102, Clu-
zel 95, Krummenacher 94 and
Mahias 90.
