CHEROKEE NATIONAL ENDURO
POSTPONED
T
he Cherokee National En-
duro, round five of the 2018
AMA National Enduro Series,
scheduled for June 3 has been
postponed due to subtropical
storm Alberto. It has been re-
scheduled for July 8, which was
the first available date that didn't
conflict with other national event
schedules.
"Due to the heavy amount
of rain that has hit the area last
night and today, plus the fore-
cast of heavy rain throughout the
week from tropical storm Alberto,
it is just going to be too flooded
to run the event this weekend,"
the NEPG reported on Tuesday,
May 29. "We apologize for any
inconvenience this may have
caused anyone, but we want to
try to have the best quality event
that we can." CN
This weekend's scheduled

in Georgia has been

PHIL "SMAGICAL" SMAGE INJURED IN
UTV JUMP ATTEMPT
N
itro Circus athlete Phil "Smagical" Smage, the brother of
multi-time MotoTrials Champion Pat Smage, was injured
during a world-record UTV distance jump attempt at the
Brimstone White Knuckle Event in Huntsville, Tennessee,
May 25.
Smage sustained multiple broken ribs, broken wrist,
collarbone and fractured vertebrae (C3-C7). He underwent
spinal surgery to fuse his C3 to C7 vertebrae. As of now,
Smage is in high spirits and is recovering from surgery. He
has already gained movement in his toes and partial mobility
of his arms. With injuries such as his, it will take sometime to
find out the long-term effect on his body. At this time it is too
soon to tell if he will require any more surgeries.
Even with the insurance coverage that Smage has, the
financial burden is going to be extensive. If you would like
to donate to his recovery and would like more information,
