IN THE WIND P46 RAY STEPS IN FOR WEBB A lex Ray will fill in for the injured Cooper Webb on the Monster Energy/Yamaha Fac- tory Team while Webb heals up from a broken leg suffered in the recently completed Supercross Championship. Ray will make his debut on the factory team at the Glen Helen round of the 2018 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, May 26. Ray comes from the Cycle Trader/Rock River Yamaha Team, where he completed his tenure with the team following the 2018 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series. Ray is con- firmed through the High Point round in Pennsylvania. From there, his status with the team will be determined by Webb's health status. "It's a dream come true to even be considered to ride for the Monster Energy Yamaha Fac- tory Racing Team!" Ray said. "I believe that with this great team and amazing bike I can really do some damage and have solid results in the Pro Motocross Championship. I've got some testing to do with the bike before lining up, but I'm confident that we will be super comfortable leading into Glen Helen." As far as Webb's recovery, he said, "At first the injury didn't seem like a big deal, but after flying to California and visiting Dr. Wong, he recommended I get surgery to speed up the healing process," said Webb. "He put a plate and some screws with one longer screw holding my tib/fib together at the top of my ankle. I get that longer screw pulled out this week and the healing is going great! I'm much further ahead of schedule than originally planned. I should be able to start riding lightly, corner tracks with no jumping, the following week. As far as a return-to-racing date, we are still undecided. We will take it week-by-week to make sure I come back 100%. I want to make sure I can put my Ya- maha up front where it belongs, instead of coming back early and unprepared. Thank you to my team, sponsors and fans for sticking behind me. I'll see you guys soon!" CN Alex Ray will fill in for Cooper Webb on the Monster Energy/Yamaha Factory Team at the Glen Helen and High Point rounds of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Championship MX Series. Lowrey began to push hard. "I knew he was back a little bit, so I immediately got to the lead and tried to get out. I tried to keep pushing in the fields as hard as I could, and Cody ran me down and caught me. We battled a little bit, and then he passed me out in a field. We both ended up gassing, and then we started hitting the lappers. He got out of sight just a little bit, but when we caught the lappers, I was able to catch back up to him. We were battling pretty hard through the lappers, and then he was able to pull out a little bit more of a gap once we got clear of lappers. I kept him pretty honest there. We kind of held it there about 20 seconds for most of the rest of the race." John Gasso OVERALL 1. Cody Barnes (Yam) 2. Logan Lowrey (Hus) 3. Cole Zuidema (KTM) 4. Zach Sulzberger (Yam) 5.
