VOL. 55 ISSUE 19 MAY 15, 2018 P103 LIST PRICE: $595.00 WWW.GPSTABLIZER.COM S TANDOUT FEATURE Improved stability for those surprise sharp edges or rocks. RIDER AN ALYSIS Mounting up the GPR stabilizer was relatively easy to do. Re- moving the handlebars, stock bar mounts and top triple- clamp to install the frame mount was possible without removing any bodywork. Once the top triple-clamp was back in place, the one-piece billet aluminum GPR bar mount bolted right up. The stock bar mounts have two inches of rise (more space than a typical dirt bike) and the GPR mount uses that space to mount the stabi- lizer under the bar. We like this as we did not want to make the handlebar position any taller. As noted above, we liked that the GPR mount moved the bars nearly half an inch forward. If you have never ridden with a steering stabilizer off- road, you don't know what you are missing. They transform a motorcycle, especially when traveling at high speeds in rocky conditions. This is more noticeable on an off-road bike but the penalty of crashing an Adventure bike makes it a nice accessory and allows you to re- lax knowing that it will take the jolt out of hitting unexpected rocks or sharp edges. The GPR V4D includes an eight-position dial to allow you to select the amount of intervention you want and we found 3-4 to be the sweet spot. We have put over 4000 miles on our Africa Twin and the GPR stabilizer has greatly added to the comfort of those miles. CN STEERING •High-quality, one-piece mount that integrates the stabilizer under the handlebars •Easily mounts up in less than an hour •Adds to the comfort of off- road riding and makes it less likely to have that surprise rock kick you sideways •If you like the stock bar position, or want something taller, the GPR mount does not provide any options, but we felt it was an improvement over stock and you could use different handlebar bends to customize the fit LOWDOWN Small and compact, the GPR V4D Steering Stabilizer is a fantastic addition for the Honda Africa Twin.
