gained separation and rode to a
lonely third-place finish.
Baker held on to fourth as Bau-
man struggled to regroup and he
eventually fell victim to the late-
race charge of Davis Fisher (Bob
Lanphere Beaverton Motorcycles/
Parkinson Brothers Racing, Indian
Scout FTR750) giving Indian the
top five positions. Henry Wiles
and Rob Pearson added two more
Indians to the top 10 while Sammy

The race quickly began to re-
semble the previous three rounds,
as Mees opened up an over 0.8
of a second lead by the halfway

Mees' lead began to shrink. "I
got by them and just kind of rode
my own race," said Mees. "I kept
looking back and I saw that he
[Carver] was right there. He was
probably able to move around a
little bit more and kind of study the
race track and figure out what was
strong and what was weak."
"When Jared got by me I started
swapping lines," said Carver. "My
bike would hook where his was
coming off. I couldn't get in where
he was. I kind of went back to the
drawing board and chased the edg-
es like I did in Atlanta." The last three
laps of the 25-lap race saw Mees'
lead virtually wiped out, but he was
able to stave off the challenge.
