R3. The KTM saw 1000 rpm
chopped from its redline, the
Kawasaki even more with a 2150
rpm reduction, while the Yamaha
got a 150 rpm increase, as well
as being allowed some airbox
modifications.
There were none hurt more in
the rule changes than Kawasaki
riders, with Road Atlanta race
winner Ashton Yates recording a
DNF in race one and languishing
in ninth in race two.
Rule changes or not, none
of this seemed to matter to
Dumas, as the French Cana-
dian's race-one victory margin

iii My Own Race:
11 MATHEW SCHOLTZ 3-3 SUPERBIKE
"Today's race, overall, was really positive for us," said Mathew Scholtz. "We made some changes
to the bike overnight, and it was a pretty big step forward. So overall, I'm very happy with the pair
of third-place finishes this weekend, especially since we were able to hang onto our second-
place position in the Championship."
1 TONY ELIAS 1-1 SUPERBIKE
"VIR has not always been the best track for me," Toni Elias
explained after race two. "In yesterday's race I just tried to stay
close to Cameron [Beaubier] and in the end I was able to find
a way to pass. Today I was leading all the way. It was a different
strategy, but it worked and we were able to win again and most importantly build on our
points lead."
95 ROGER HAYDEN DNF-DNF SUPERBIKE
"In the first race, a rider in front of us crashed and a couple of us went off-track to avoid
him," Hayden said. "I ended up having a pretty big crash and hit my head pretty hard.
I tried to ride today (race two), but I was still feeling the effects of yesterday's hit to the
head. I got pretty dizzy on the bike, so I just brought it in to be safe."
6 CAMERON BEAUBIER 2-2 SUPERBIKE
"I'm just sick of second place," Cameron Beaubier said. "I haven't got a win yet under my
belt [this season], but I'm happy that I at least stayed on the track there the last few laps
[race two]. I ended up getting sucked in there pretty good, teeter-tottered on the white
line in between the dirt and the pavement. I lost probably a second or something. I just
did everything I could on the last lap. I felt like a dummy after almost running off the track
and kind of blowing it there to make a charge to try to win the race."
