so huge, the proximity breath-
less. On the first lap, Honda
riders Dalla Porta and wildcard
Alcoba plus KTM-mounted Fog-
gia and McPhee had tangled,
after an error by McPhee, and
it was surprising there were not
more incidents.
Pole qualifier Martin had led
away and for the first four laps,
then Bastianini was the first to
take over, followed by Bezzecchi.
But it was all typically notional, in
true Moto3 style. At half distance
the top 18 were covered by some
2.5 seconds.
Canet had come from 14th on
the grid, and his fateful lunge at
the Dry Sack hairpin did nothing
for his reputation, and earned
him a back-of-the-grid start at the
next race.
The remaining pack grappled
for the final podium position.
Rookie Alonso Lopez (EG
Honda) crossed the line at the
front of it, but was dropped one
position for exceeding track lim-
its, giving a first podium to KTM
rider Marcos Ramirez.
All up close, third to 12th
inside just half a second, with
Masia (KTM) fifth, then Suzuki,
Di Giannantonio (both Honda),
Kornfeil (KTM) and Toba (Honda)
completing the top ten.
Bezzecchi took the title lead
from a disgruntled no-score Mar-
tin, 63 points to 55. CN
