HASLAM TAKES DOUBLE BSB WINS
AT OULTON PARK
L
eon Haslam (Kawasaki) took his
first double victory of the 2018
British Superbike Championship,
first defeating Jake Dixon (Kawa-
saki) and Shane Byrne (Ducati) in
race one and Jason O'Halloran
(Honda) and Dixon in race two.
The double triumph puts
Haslam 14 points clear at the top
of the standings after round-one
winner Bradley Ray (Suzuki) could
only muster fourth and seventh
places at Oulton Park.
"We have been pushing hard all
weekend so to win race one was
great," said Haslam. "Then in race
two, I thought I'd timed it perfectly,
I sat behind Jason and he had
really good pace. My pit board
kept going up and up and up so
I knew it was just me and him. I
thought 'this is perfect,' made my
move, upped the pace by half a
second but he never went away.
I was happy when I crossed the
line and it feels good to lead the
standings."
In the Supersport category,
Jack Kennedy (Yamaha) cleaned
up with a double win over Ben
Currie (Kawasaki), second in both
races. It was another solid per-
formance from American James
Rispoli (Yamaha), notching his
second podium of the year in third
for race two after finishing fourth
in race one.
American Brandon Paasch
(Mahindra) collected a DNF and
sixth-place finishes in the British
Motostar Moto3 Championship
with Jake Archer (KTM) taking
both wins. CN
