laps. It was a difficult track to be con-
sistent on, for sure."
Mees showed the same power and
tenacity that has been there all year
as he dove inside Bauman enter-
ing turn one to start the fifth lap and
steadily inched away. "I just kind of
set sail, really. I rode smooth in the
beginning and took a peek back and
saw Briar was kind of matching me,"
said Mees. "I really just started putting
some good laps together."
Contact seemed unavoidable when
any passes were made on the incon-
sistent, rough groove. The early laps
saw Henry Wiles (Wilco Racing/Willy
Built, Indian Scout FTR750) hold-
"I didn't get a good jump, so I
had to kind of get by the guys," said
Mees. "I was just patient and got by
them smooth."

"The start was everything and I got
a really good start," said Bauman. "I
was really excited, actually, because
Jared always gets the holeshot, it's a
typical deal. I was able to smoke him
off the line. It was a difficult track to
