Tensions Flare
After the last-lap incident, in the post-
race press conference, the 450SX
podium finishers had a lot to say about
it. It started with Musquin, who tried
to bring up Tomac's repeated contact
with Ryan Dungey in Las Vegas in
2017 as a comparison to what he did
to Tomac in the main in Foxborough.
Here's a transcript:
Musquin: "We've seen worse
stuff like that. Last year in Vegas, for
example, at the final round."
Tomac: "Yet, you can fix a race at
New York two weeks before that and
not have anything happen. And then
we'll get a $5000 penalty, and that's
like a drop in the bucket for the 450cc
class, so why not just keep blasting
people?"
Musquin:
[Smiled big during
Tomac's response.]
"I know, I'm pretty
sure we can talk
about stuff like
that..."
Tomac: "We
should be docked
points, not a frickin'
$5000 fine... Guys
would think twice. Including myself
and Marv..."
Musquin: "I'm pretty sure we can
talk about stuff like that, but, I mean,
Josh Grant was right there in Vegas
trying to help you, so I mean, it's not...
You know what I'm saying? We can
talk about stuff like that a long time,
so... Things like that happen, you
know?"
Anderson: "Hey, I'm just listening
to this stuff over here. I'm chilling...
[Laughs]"
Tomac: "But, I mean, where do
you draw the line for a super-aggres-
sive pass? But at the same time, there

the focus was
on Musquin and
Tomac at the
end of the night,
it was Anderson
who came out
smelling like a
rose after getting
third place.
