usually consistent Serpa has had
issues adjusting to the new four-
stroke KTM this year, but showed
he is still a contender.
"This not exactly where I want
to be, but it's better than where
I've been," said Serpa. "I'm just
happy to be up here. I had a
sketchy moment in the pits. I
wadded myself pretty good. But
after that, I just pushed. I was a
little angry about it, so that defi-
nitely helped."
In Pro 2 Lites, Elliott pulled off
shifter problems and went from
the back of the field to second at
the finish.
"I bent my shifter and had
to ride around in third gear the
whole time," said LaFountaine. "I
was losing time down the straight-
aways and I think I could have
won it if that hadn't happened. I
hadn't even ridden this bike until
the race so to get a podium was
tough work."
Serpa crashed in the pits dur-
ing the race but rode hard from
there. He finished third, earning
Tallon LaFountaine finished
second in Pro 2 ahead of Austin
Serpa (RPM KTM).
"I took the first lap and figured
out the lines early," said Ander-
son. "From there I pushed hard,
got the lead and just rode my own
race. This is my first Pro 2 win in
the WORCS series ever! I'm kind
of speechless, but happy. A lot of
work goes into this and it's good
to see it paying off."
LaFountaine (Suzuki) struggled
with some issues. After stalling
on the start, he fought through
Mitch Anderson led
the way in the Pro 2
class for his first-ever
WORCS victory.
