SUPERCROSS ROUND 12 / MARCH 24, 2018 LUCAS OIL STADIUM / INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA P66 MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS iii My Own Race: 23 AARON PLESSINGER 5TH 250SX EAST/WEST Many expected Aaron Plessinger to put himself on top of the box in In- dianapolis, since he's normally so good in rutted conditions, but he was stunted on the start by a Tuff Block pushed out into the track and had to come through from nearly last for fifth. He also missed his sighting lap due to a mechanical issue. "I didn't get to do the hot lap," Plessinger said. "I was kind of clueless off the start. I got a good jump. Me and Zach [Osborne] got a good jump and it just didn't work out. I think Adam [Cianciarulo] cut in front of Zach and hit a hay bale, dragged it across the track. I got stuck on one and think I was almost last going into the first rhythm section, but charged hard and never gave up. That's all we can ask for. I got a 9-point lead now." 15 DEAN WILSON 2ND 450SX Dean Wilson had a breakthrough night in Indianapolis, scoring his first podium finish in the 450SX class despite still fighting an injured shoulder. He took out Broc Tickle for the spot late in the race. "To be honest, what went into the race was, man, I've been working my butt off since November," Wilson said. "It's just been really tough because I got hurt the first round. We race every weekend and I was just hav- ing a hard time healing. My shoulder still bugs me. It's an amazing feeling. I finally got a start and I was running up there with those guys. I'm really happy with my ride, but I want to send my apologies to Broc [Tickle]. That wasn't cool. I had a lot of arm pump. He turned down and I cleaned him out. I feel really bad about it. He's a friend of mine. But it's racing and so I just want to apologize. But I'm pumped. I'm really happy." 10 JUSTIN BRAYTON 3RD 450SX The other beneficiary of Dean Wilson taking out Broc Tickle was Justin Brayton, who, after winning his heat race, had to work his way up through the field in the main event, eventually land- ing himself in third. "I think tonight was huge," Brayton said. "It was a really challenging track. I didn't ride the best. Even all day, I felt good, but to win the heat race like I did, not feeling super comfortable, just because of the track, and to be on the podium on a night where I just felt okay is amazing. I love being up here. I don't take it for granted, especially that win in Daytona. Now being up here again, three heat race wins in a row, it's just an amazing feeling I'll never take for granted." 76 KYLE PETERS 8TH 250SX EAST/WEST Kyle Peters (Autotrader/Yoshimura Suzuki) has be finding his speed as of late; not too long ago, he would've been happy with eighth, but not anymore. "I felt good in practice, but I didn't have the inten- sity when the night show came around. I was flat," Peters said. "I had a good start in the heat race and my shift points were good, but I rode tight in the heat race. For whatever reason I felt fatigued go- ing into the main event. The team worked really hard, and we made progress. The shootout deal was cool, because I never get to race the West guys. As far as the points go, it could make for a big swing either way. I'm sixth in points and want to climb the ladder."
