SUPERCROSS ROUND 11 / MARCH 17, 2018 THE DOME AT AMERICA'S CENTER / ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI P78 MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES iii My Own Race: 45 JORDON SMITH 3RD 250SX EAST Jordon Smith put in his third podium finish in a row in St. Louis (with a third in Atlanta, and a win in Daytona leading up to this weekend's event), and he did it the hard way, starting outside the top 10. Yeah. I mean really it all went down to the heat race crash on the first lap. That was really unfortunate to go down there. From there, with the start being split by the tunnel, it made it really tough. It was so far out there on the outside. I got off to a pretty good start and just kind of salvaged what I could. There were a lot of guys going down and the track was really tricky. I think when I got into third there I kind of backed down and settled in. I should have just kept pushing." 76 KYLE PETERS 4TH 250SX EAST "Overall, it was a great weekend," said Kyle Peters (Autotrad- er/Yoshimura/Suzuki). "I made a lot of improvements in bring- ing a typical practice day to a race day situation. I qualified well and my times were close. Heading into the night show Buddy Antunez helped me with a few things, which really helped. I holeshot my heat race, which was great, but I rode a little tight and finished second. I worked hard in the main event and came away with fourth. My riding was so much better than it has been. I'm riding more like myself. It was a confidence booster to get that monkey off my back." 20 BROC TICKLE 7TH 450SX It's been a rough couple of weeks for Broc Tickle, but things started moving back in the right direction in St. Louis, where he started fourth and ended up finishing a solid seventh, the last racer on the lead lap. "Overall I would say it was a posi- tive weekend from the last couple I've had," Tickle said. "It's definitely a step in the right direction. I had two good starts and I put myself in a good place to get good results. I felt like I was just a little off speed-wise today on the track but all-in- all it was a positive weekend." 15 DEAN WILSON 8TH 450SX Dean Wilson is battling a bone bruise in his shoulder, but he's still putting in consistent results. Since round six in San Diego, Wilson has scored a ninth, eighth, seventh, and then three eighth-place finishes in a row, including this weekend in St. Louis. "This was another positive, good day," Wilson said. "I was close to winning my heat race so that was good. I've been working hard on my starts. I was 11th in the main and got up to eighth. I'm going to get back to work on Monday and will try to improve."
