CN III VOICES W H A T Y O U A R E S A Y I N G Daytona TT Great job with the show at Day- tona—much better track, super exciting racing, tight program. However, I don't know what you were thinking giving Kevin Clark the boot. Bubba came a long way as an announcer and interviewer last season. Adding his stunts to the show is cool, but none of that makes him worthy of taking on the role of flagman. Kevin has decades of experience as a flagger, and it shows. He has style that can't be learned, nor taught, without doing it as long as he has. You've been making strong moves toward branding AFT as a world-class professional series. The man on the start- ing line is a major component of the show, and you had the best of the best. Why would you replace him with an amateur? Scott Rounds Good start for the year! Gary Hollenbeck AFT is already destroying what took so long to bring back. Flat track needs no side show . Timmymo Moore Daytona 200 I watched the Daytona 200, red flags and all. This race is run more like a glorified club race than a professional race. To compare Danny Eslick's accom- plishments to Scott Russell or Muguel Duhamel is ludicrous. Thank goodness Debise is going to be okay. Paul Trautman Alta Redshift MXR Test The big turn will occur if/when the manufacturers of gasoline- powered dirt bikes get serious and bring out competing models. Yes, KTM has one, but it is not a motocross machine. More competition will improve the breed. I look forward to it, not for the environmental reasons but for rideability and fun. Jim Bunch Can't wait for the street- legal dual-sport! Jerry Carlson Fifty horsepower, and produces 147 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheel doesn't sound like a 250F to me. How hard would it be to have a backup, interchangeable battery? That would be a game- changer to bring two or three extra batteries with you. Dustin Davenport Qatar MotoGP That was some of the best rac- ing ever! Jim Sheldon This year in MotoGP there are so many stars. Cal certainly can be on the podium and Johan Zarco can definitely win races. Marc Marquez has his work cut out for him this year and the championship won't just be a given. Al Banta St. Louis Supercross Boring! The heats and main sucked. The top four guys were just riding around by themselves before the halfway point of the race and it stayed that way. Day- tona would have been the same if not for Tomac. That's one of the reasons I prefer the three-moto format, at least it gives more of an oppor- tunity to see at least one close race. I'd rather see a competi- tive 10 minutes race than a bor- ing, 20-minute race. Ken Bateman Letters to the editor can be sent to voices@cyclenews.com. I look forward to it, not for the environmental reasons but for rideability and fun." It's got the power. It just needs the batteries.
