FLAT TRACK 2018 AMERICAN FLAT TRACK SERIES ROUND 1 / MARCH 18, 2018 DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY / DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA P106 the way to the right-hand turn after the jump when another massive pile up stopped the race. Both Rispoli and Kurtis Lee (Branda Racing Magic/Stevens Cycle, Honda CRF450R) were unable to make the restart. The third time was a charm as Dan Bromley (Big Momma & Daddy Deep Pockets/KTM USA, KTM 450 SX-F) led wire to wire for his fourth AFT Singles win. "I knew I had to ride a perfect race, there were some really fast riders out there," said Bromley. Bromley steadily pulled away from Jesse Janisch (Roof Sys- tems/West Bend Harley-David- son, Yamaha YZ450F) stretching before settling down. The first attempt saw half the front row to the penalty line. Former dirt tracker Jake Lewis (Suzuki/ M4 Exhaust, Suzuki RM-Z450) stepped out of his road race mode to lead the 18-rider field into turn one, but fellow road racer James Rispoli (Mydigitallist- ing.com/Ritchie Morris Racing, Honda CRF450R) tried to slide inside and ran out of room. Rispoli and Lewis went down collecting Shane Narbonne (JMC Motorsports/All Phase Chim- neys, Honda CRF450R) sending all three to the penalty line for the restart. The next attempt made it all Bryan Smith and Rob Pearson (R/J Performance/Hite Trucking). Sammy Halbert (Harley-David- son Motor Company/Vance & Hines, Harley-Davidson XG750R) was the last rider on the lead lap, finishing as the top Harley-David- son in 11th position. Jarod Vanderkooi (Harley-Da- vidson Motor Company/Vance & Hines, Harley-Davidson XG750R) ran as high as seventh, but his race ended on lap 22 due to a mechanical problem. ATF SINGLES The 15-lap AFT Singles main event suffered through two red- flags and two complete restarts Dan Bromley rode the only KTM in the AFT Singles field, and it was the first to cross the finish line in the main.
