INDIAN INTRODUCES
CHIEFTAIN ELITE
I
ndian Motorcycle has unveiled its 2018 Chief-
tain Elite, resplendent in a beautiful hand-paint-
ed silver color scheme.
"As the name suggests, this paint was inspired
by the silver mines in the Black Hills of South Da-
kota, which is near Indian Motorcycle's custom
paint facility in Spearfish, SD," read a release
from Indian Motorcycle.
The 2018 Chieftain gets a black 10-spoke,
19-inch wheel up front, Pathfinder LED head-
light and driving lights, a beautiful infotainment
system with a 200-watt stereo, keyless ignition,
push-button power flare windshield, billet alu-
minum rider and passenger floorboards, genu-
ine leather seats and smaller hand controls for
improved ergonomics.
The Chieftain Elite is powered by the 111 c.i
Thunderstroke V-Twin, with a claimed 119 lb-ft
of torque at 3000 rpm, which can be upgraded
to a 116 c.i Stage Three kit which pumps up the
claimed torque another 15 percent with a 20
percent increase in horsepower.
We tested the Chieftain Elite last year, which
you can read here.
The 2018 MSRP will start at $31,499 in the
U.S. and $37,999 in Canada. CN
