BETTER LATE THAN NEVER The 2018 Daytona Supercross marked Justin Brayton's 131st-career main event, and his first win. "I knew that I had to put in really good laps in the beginning with that good of a start, and I made that pass on Christian [Craig] the first lap and really just tried to get a gap, and then just tried to manage that gap," Brayton said of how he won the 450SX main. "I saw Coop [Cooper Webb] in second, and he made a little bit of a charge, and once Eli [Tomac] got him, I think there were four or so laps to go, and I was like, 'Oh, boy, here he comes.' I put together good laps. I knew towards the end of the race he could only go so fast, once the track gets rough like that, so I thought I managed it well, and it's crazy. I finally got a win!" ROCZEN PROPOSES (WELL, SORT OF) It was another busy day for the recu- perating Ken Roczen (Honda HRC), who attended his third consecutive race on the sidelines. (Roczen was injured at the San Diego Supercross.)
