CN III VOICES W H A T Y O U A R E S A Y I N G "His name will be forever etched as a Daytona SX winner." Daytona Supercross Congratulations Justin! Unwav- ering dedication and discipline and lots of hard work are pay- ing off. Many racers would have given up if things didn't hap- pen for them within the first few years. You're obviously made of different stuff, the kind of stuff that the armchair racers are completely unfamiliar with. You never gave up, and now you are a Daytona winner. Your win was a win for the working man. I hope there are more. It sure looks like you're fast enough these days! Howard Halterman Long-time coming, always look for Justin. Remember he al- most got one on the yellow and black YZ a few years ago. Congrats on a great win. Daytona isn't for the slackers. Robert Laroque Down goes Tomac! One heck of a charge back through the pack. Musquin went down at least twice and still managed a fifth. Congratulations to Justin Brayton. His name will be forever etched as a Daytona SX winner. Terry Heath If Chad Reed want's to chase records, fine with me. He's has always been one of my favorite racers when he was on top; I'm not going to desert him now just because he's not. Nobody wins forever. Nobody races forever. It's his life and career to do whatever he likes. And he likes supercross, so I'm glad to see him out there. And if a mud race comes up, don't be surprised if he wins it. He's maybe the best mud rider of all time. Adam Wright ARCHIVES: When H-D Almost Won A Superbike Race I was one of those Harley hat- ers that screamed themselves silly on that sunny day in 1994. When the pack came into turn four and Mr. Duhamel out- braked everyone to slither into the lead, my beer flew in the air and a slew of "holy f'ing shits" spewed out of my mouth. I watched in absolute amaze- ment, as he did the same thing for the next four laps. Mr. Lawrence's description of that day is nuts-on. It was magical. Even though I secretly loved watching the Bostrom and Wait brothers hustle those 883s around in clouds of burnt ex- haust valves and ground-down frame bits each week, I was the first one to rip on the chrome and fringe crowd. But for that one afternoon, I was truly in Hog Heaven. I always admired the efforts of anybody that rode the VR. Well, except for Mr. Ru$$el. Rick Waschek Flat Track Preview With now seven FTR's at every race, it's not a question of In- dian repeating, it's whether any non-Indian can podium. Other than Henry Wiles and Briar Bauman at TTs on Kawi's, I'd say no, unfortunately. At least with that many FTR's in the field, Jared Mees will likely not be so dominant. Michael Mcline Should be fun to watch, this will be an epic season! Monty Sanders Letters to the editor can be sent to voices@cyclenews.com. Published letters do not necessarily reflect the position of Cycle News. Letters should not exceed 150 words and are subject to editing. Anonymous letters won't be considered for publication and each letter should contain the writer's name, address and daytime phone number… Editor P6 Justin Brayton celebrates Daytona SX win.
