"Race three was my best of the night. I didn't get the best of starts but was consistent the whole way and put in a good ride." For Haaker, Bilbao was yet another tough night at the office. After a strong showing in Malaga, Haaker hoped to build on that but instead found himself taking dirt samples more often than he would have liked. Finishing sixth overall behind Billy Bolt (Husqvarna) and Manuel Lettenbichler (KTM) made it a frustrating night for the defend- ing world champion. "I don't really know what to say; tonight was tough, tougher than it should have been," admit- for the championship and I've closed the gap to Cody to 17 points with just the final round in Sweden remaining. I've got three races left to make it happen so I'm just going to make the best of what I can." Beginning to hit his stride in the series, Walker, spurred on by his SuperPole win, sandwiched Bla- zusiak and Webb on the podium with his consistent 3-3-3 score. "Winning the Akrapovic Super- Pole was a great start to the night and ultimately helped me finish in the runner-up spot," said Walker. "In the three races I think I rode too tense. I'm not sure why but I found it hard to get a decent flow on the track. I seemed to hit a of the overall podium. "Things went well and I'm super happy with the overall outcome to- night. It feels great to get another overall victory on the board," Blazusiak said. "To be honest coming into Bilbao I wasn't feeling too great because I'm still carrying some nagging injuries from my crash in Malaga. I wasn't able to ride and train as much as I would have normally done. "I rode steady in the first two races trying to find my rhythm and confidence again. I got a great start in the final race and knew it was my chance to strike. I gave it everything I had and came away with the victory. "Overall it's been a good night Colton Haaker, the defending champ, couldn't find the magic on this night.
