Arai's new Defiant-X helmet is made with
a PB-cLc (Peripherally Belted, complex
Laminate construction) shell, which uses
technology developed in Formula One. To
make the PB-cLc shell, materials are layered
with proprietary adhesives and a Super
Fiber Belt is added to strengthen the shell,
like the bands of a barrel. Air channels
originally designed for the Corsair-X were
borrowed and updated, and then connected
to new exhaust ports on the chinbar. The
helmet meets or exceeds DOT and Snell
certifications.

Yoshimura R&D has stainless full
exhaust systems for the BMW G
310 R. Based on Yoshimura's R-77
system, the exhaust is tuned for
the Beemer's 310cc single-cylinder
performance needs. Installing the
system adds a claimed 4.9 percent
max horsepower and 5.6 percent
max torque, while dropping over half
the weight of the stock system.
