and back into fourth."
In Pro 2, Hart turned his sec-
ond-ever WORCS start into his
first victory. A regular in hare and
hound competition, Hart was us-
ing the event to help him prepare
for the upcoming season. Noah
Kepple (GasGas) finished sec-
ond ahead of Mitch Anderson
(CST Honda), who rounded out
the Pro 2 podium.
"I got a good start, started
inching away early and I man-
aged to win," said Hart. "The
start was out of nowhere. Luck-
ily, I got a good jump from the
outside. I basically just battled
with some of the Pros and that
was pretty fun. My weakness is
going fast, and WORCS is fast.
So I'm working on my weakness-
es right now."
Kepple used the slick and
rocky conditions to his advan-
tage. With a torquey two-stroke
under him, he got a great start
and scored the runner-up finish.
"The course was awesome for
me and it suits my GasGas XC
300 two-stroke very well," said
Kepple. "The slick conditions
allowed me to just motor along.
When they did the start, it caught
a couple people sleeping. I was
focused and Trystan and I got a
really good start. It was smooth
sailing and I had a clean ride."
Anderson fought his way
through the rocky and rough
course to finish third. The Big 6
racer is competing in WORCS
this year with support from his
Big 6 teammate Beau Baron.
"It was pretty sketchy out
there," Anderson said. "We were
all pushing as hard as we could
and you have to limit how fast
you go when it's dangerous and
sketchy or you'll end up on the
ground."
In Pro 2 Lites, Spenser Wilton
(KTM) rode to his second con-
secutive victory. The Canadian
racer beat out Robby Schott
(TM) and Kyle Hutcheson (KTM)
for the top spot.
"I started out with the hole-
shot, but I took a spill into one
of the cactus down there and
Hutcheson got past me," said
Wilton. "From there, I just tried
to be as smooth as possible and
not make any mistakes. That
worked out today."
Schott also recovered from a
crash. He pulled off a second-
place finish. "I had to salvage
it because I had a mishap out
there," said Schott. "Besides
that, the course was fun and it
had a good flow to it. I just rode
my own race and my stamina
was there."
Hutcheson said, "It was
rough, but I just kept it on two
wheels today. You have to be
smooth and find different lines."
