HUSQVARNA VITPILEN, SVARTPILEN
MAKE U.S. DEBUT IN NEW YORK
H
usqvarna celebrated its re-
turn to manufacturing street-
focused motorcycles by unveiling
the long-awaited Vitpilen 401 and
701 and Svartpilen 401 in a lavish
event held in New York City.
"We are excited to welcome
the various media outlets joining
us for this momentous occasion.
It is with great anticipation that
we welcome the Vitpilen family
and we look forward to these
bikes arriving in North American
dealers early May of this spring,"
said Blaine Schuttler, Managing
Director of Husqvarna Motor-
cycles, North America.
The road-focused Vitpilen
Svartpilen 401 use the KTM 390
Duke motor as its base, while the
701 series uses the KTM 690
Duke motor for a powerplant.
The machines have long been
shown in concept stage, first
appearing way back at EICMA in
2014, and are now finally ready
for production.
We will be testing the new
Vitpilen and Svartpilen 401 range
at the world intro in Spain next
month and will let you know our
findings soon in Cycle News. CN
