over, he grabbed fourth when
Hartranft fell (remounting sixth),
then chased down Ferrandis's
teammate Colt Nichols for third a
few laps later.
Next up was Cantrell, and Os-
borne kept it clean going by the
youngster on lap eight. By then,
Hampshire had a decent lead,
but Osborne whittled it down
over the next few laps. Hamp-
shire made it easy for Osborne,
however, when he went down on
his own in the whoops, hand-
ing the lead and eventual win to
Osborne.
Osborne finished ahead of
Nichols while Jimmy Decotis (Au-
toTrader/JGR Suzuki) worked his
way up from the tail end of the top
10 to third at the finish line, just in
front of a dejected Hampshire and
his teammate Martin, who recov-
ered nicely after crashing in the
first turn.
"I probably was not the fastest
guy all day, but I just had to go
out there in the main and make it
happen," Osborne said. "I rode a
decent race—I had a tip-over there
in the beginning. I'm just happy to
get this one out of the way." CN

BAD LUCK BARCIA
Justin Barica, second in the 450SX
Championship coming in, is now
sidelined again with another injury.
In his heat race, Barcia grabbed
the holeshot, and while leading on
the first lap he messed up a rhythm
section before one of the track's
two triple jumps, which caused
him to double the triple in front of
the entire field. He tried to stay out
of the way, but Kawasaki privateer
Tyler Bowers had nowhere to go
and clipped Barcia's right hand on
his way down. That's two weeks in
a row that the second-place racer
in the points has broken their right
hand. Barcia posted on his Insta-
gram account Sunday: "Small set
back will have surgery tomorrow
and be back at it in no time. Luckily
it's just my hand and I can still keep
my fitness up off the bike! Thanks to
all my fans and great sponsors!!!
