ffer it and they will come.
The Rough Rider 100 by
Team 6 Events and Arizona Motor-
cycle Riders Association (AMRA)
offered the rare chance for off-
road racers to vie for a $10,000
Pro purse and as a result, drew a
stacked field to the race based at
the Little Dealer, Little Prices RV
dealership in town that served as
race central.
As reigning series champion
Max Gerston said, "This is the
most stacked race I've ever seen!
I was thinking about it last night
and I'm like, 'There's 10 guys here
that are either current or former
National champions!' And I'm like,
'Dude, that's badass!' I was so
stoked! I think it's good to have
all the fast guys [at one race]. It's
good for the fans, it's good for the
racers."
And the Rough Rider 100 did in-
deed attract a huge number of top
Pros who normally don't contest
the Kenda/SRT AMA West Hare
Scrambles Regional Champion-
ship Series, but with $10,000 up
for grabs (including $3000 to the
winner), it was hard to turn down
a trip to this high desert town for
round two of the series.
But the race was for second
because once FMF KTM Factory
Off-Road Racing Team's Taylor
Robert made his way to the front
after a few turns—only yielding the
holeshot bonus to GasGas-mount-
ed Travis Coy—he kept on going.
He completed six laps of the tech-
nical 10-mile loops in two hours,
49 minutes and 37 seconds. That
put the Red Bull/Motorex/Troy
Lee Designs-backed 450 XC-F

Taylor Robert dominated the
Rough Rider 100 AMA West
Hare Scrambles in Arizona
and went home with a
considerably fatter wallet.

Though not a
series regular, Clay
Hengeveld recovered
from a mediocre start
to claim the FMF Pro
250 win, making it an
Arizona sweep of the
two Pro classes.
