Zach Osborne has never defended a title in his professional racing
career, and the Arlington Supercross became the official start of his
first-ever title defense. And he picked up right where he left off.
The two 250SX East heat races were won by the Monster Energy/
Pro Circuit Kawasaki crew, one going to Austin Forkner and the other
to Martin Davalos, but off the start of the main event, Davalos was
involved in an ugly first-turn crash that also collected other champi-
onship favorites Dylan Ferrandis (Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha),
Jeremy Martin (Geico Honda) and Jordon Smith (TLD/Red Bull KTM).
At least 10 riders in all were affected negatively by this crash.
