MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS, AN FIM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
ROUND 7 / FEBRUARY 17, 2018
AT&T STADIUM / ARLINGTON, TEXAS
P60
Maybe even crazier than this list of
single-race accomplishments is the
fact that this is the third time Tomac
has done this!
But perhaps the bigger story in Ar-
lington surrounded the opening round
of the 250SX East Regional Series,
where Zach Osborne would get his
first opportunity to defend a profes-
sional championship. He started his
defense in style. Although he wasn't
the fastest guy all day in Arlington, just
as champs often do, he managed to
come away with the win, setting him-
self up to have a successful defense
in his last season on a 250.
450SX
Tomac (Monster Energy Kawasaki) has
had a rough start to the 2018 season,
with two DNFs, one DNS, and one
13th-place finish. Coming into Arling-
ton, however, he had tallied two wins.
As you can see, it's been a rocky road
for him. But after a DNF following a
first-turn fall last week in San Diego,
Tomac put that behind him and turned
it all around again in Arlington.
Tomac got the holeshot in the main
event and soon had points leader
Jason Anderson (Rockstar Energy
Husqvarna) sitting second with Marvin
Musquin (Red Bull KTM) in third.
Behind them came Blake Baggett
(Rocky Mountain ATV-MC KTM),
Weston Peick (AutoTrader/JGR
Suzuki), Cooper Webb (Monster En-
ergy/Knich Yamaha) and Cole Seely
(Honda HRC). Tomac immediately
checked out, while Anderson went
down and remounted in seventh,
handing second to Musquin and third
to Baggett, and that's how they'd run
to the finish.
Marvin Musquin
(25) slipped into
second, while
Cooper Webb
(2) enjoyed the
best ride he's
had all season.
