STRANG STRONG AT SOUTH CAROLINA
AMA EAST HARE SCRAMBLES
I
t was an exciting finish at round two
of the SRT/AMA East Hare Scram-
bles series in Woodruff, South Caro-
lina, February 18. The battle for the
win came down to the last few minutes
with Husqvarna's Josh Strang even-
tually pulling through for the victory
ahead of Honda rider Trevor Bollinger.
Yamaha rider Ricky Russell, howev-
er, was quickest off the start line and
led the pack into the woods. But both
Bollinger and Strang managed to get
around Russell during the first lap.
Bollinger took over. The Honda rider
opened up a seemingly safe 30-sec-
ond lead over Strang, especially when
they took the white flag. But that's
when Strang kicked it into gear.
Strang started catching Bollinger
and was soon breathing down his
neck. With just two laps left to go,
Strang let it rip and managed to get
around Bollinger for the lead. From
there, he sprinted to the finish line and
ended up taking the win by a 30-sec-
ond gap, leaving Bollinger to settle for
second. Russell held on to take third.
Fourth went to Jonathan John-
son (Yamaha), while Brewer Caw-
ley (KTM) rounded out the top five
overall.
Other notable class winners
included David James (Senior), Cole
Lail (Schoolboy), Vance Earl (Open),
Max Fernandez (Youth) and Mason
Tsakanikas (Pee Wee).
The race was also co-sanctioned
by the Mid-East Hare Scrambles
Championship. CN

Woodruff, SC. (Below) Trevor Bollinger held the lead for much of the
race, but couldn't quite hang on for the win.
