CN III VOICES W H A T Y O U A R E S A Y I N G "I suggest a two-wheeled road trip, stopping at a few places of worship along the way." The Benefit Of Security I always love to read Rennie's rantings and this week did not disappoint. A helmet lock that actually works (at least for helmets with D-rings) is truly a wonderful thing and my trusty KLR 650 has one of the best and always has. Trouble is, I wear a Schuberth C3 Pro which has the ratcheting strap closure, ren- dering the helmet lock worth- less. Rennie, beware of where you leave your bike parked and helmet hanging out in the open, because if the idiot with a knife wants your super cool hand-painted retro helmet, he will just cut the nylon strap! Or if it ever rains again and the deluge comes whilst your lid is in the open, you'll have a nice soggy ride home in more ways than one! Paul Golde Between the f-bomb, porn comments and overall para- noia, I think Rennie needs a vacation. I suggest a two- wheeled road trip, stopping at a few places of worship along the way. P.S. Love your e-rag, I now always look forward to Tuesday. Anthony LaGrasta Regarding "The Benefit of Security," give Suzuki some credit. My good ol' late model old-style DR650 has a helmet lock like the ones in your pic- ture of a Kawasaki. Robert Echard San Diego Supercross The racing is good and the tracks are really good. Every- one likes to complain about supercross tracks but they're holding up well and providing good racing. Tomac's crash wasn't his fault; it was having too many riders funneling into a turn. Going to a two-row grid could keep guys safer and make the racing better. I hope Tomac doesn't go outdoor-only, considering his speed in Supercross and almost taking the title last year, and winning over half the races. If Anderson doesn't make a major mistake he should be able to cruise to the title with the crappy points system. Ken Bateman What a night, though not all for good rea- sons. The jump that Bogle got crushed under was right in front of me. It was a huge triple into a corner, with an equally huge triple after the same corner with no run up. There were a lot of identical near-crashes on every open- ing lap because not everyone could do the triples on lap one and the speed differential was huge between those doubling and tripling. I know we all love airtime, but so many riders are getting jacked up because of tiny mistakes. Bogle is lucky it wasn't worse. Cool obstacles, yes, but perhaps a little more fore- thought into placement of the sky shots might help. When Roczen was carted off, (no fault of the track) the energy of the entire stadium went quiet. Most thought the worst, and suddenly the race didn't seem so important any- more. Thank God it isn't as bad as it looked. Best wishes KR. Howard Halterman Letters to the editor can be sent to voices@cyclenews.com.
