Faith, who qualified first and
won his heat and topped the
Rocky Mountain ATV-MC Head
to Head Challenge, got caught
up in a six-bike crash just after
the start of the first moto. Faith's
mechanic took the bike off the
track, which resulted in his
disqualification from the moto,
losing all points. Faith wasn't
seriously hurt.
Riding a Monster Energy
Kawasaki, Hayes qualified third
and won his heat. He went on to
dominate the motos and score
his second overall victory of the
year. Despite being ill during
the race, Hayes conquered the
track's wide whoops sections.
"I've been a little under the
weather during the break, so I've
been trying to conserve my en-
ergy," said Hayes. "The track was
tricky in a different way. It wasn't
rutted, but it had some weird brak-
ing bumps and square edges. It
would sneak up on you."
